Job summary

Scheltema Trailer is seeking a skilled welder to join our on-site team in Canada. You will interpret welding specifications, operate welding equipment (manual, semi-automatic, and automated), and read blueprints to fabricate and repair metal structures.

You will examine welds for quality, lay out patterns, assemble components, and ensure materials meet project requirements. Candidates should be detail-oriented, reliable, and a good team player who communicates effectively.

Qualifications

• No degree required.
• On-site work at the physical location in Canada.
• Welding experience is an asset.

Responsibilities

• Interpret welding process specifications.
• Operate manual or semi-automatic, fully automated welding equipment.
• Read and interpret welding blueprints, drawings specifications, manuals and processes.
• Examine welds and ensure that they meet standards and/or specifications.
• Operate previously set-up welding machines to fabricate or repair metal parts and products.
• Weld or bolt sections together.
• Lay out reference points and patterns.
• Assemble and fit plates and sections to form structures.
• Install fabricated components in final product.
• Study engineering drawings and blueprints to determine material requirements.
• Determine materials required.
