Job Purpose

We are seeking a skilled and dependable Welder / Barn Equipment Technician to join our service team. In this hands-on role, you will be responsible for servicing, maintaining, and installing barn equipment at our clients’ agricultural operations.

Key Responsibilities

• Respond to service calls directly from clients or as assigned
• Troubleshoot and repair barn equipment failures promptly
• Service and maintain a variety of equipment including stables, feeders, and manure systems
• Weld ferrous and non-ferrous metals (TIG, MIG, Stick), including stainless steel
• Operate and maintain a service van, ensuring inventory is stocked and organized
• Complete accurate daily reports including time sheets, parts usage, and purchase orders
• Provide on-call service support when required
• Advise clients on preventative maintenance measures
  
  

Qualifications

• Proficient in TIG, MIG, and Stick welding techniques
• Mechanical, electrical, and millwright aptitude
• Ability to read and interpret blueprints
• Strong communication skills and customer-focused mindset
• Able to work independently and take initiative
• Willingness to take calculated risks in troubleshooting and repairs
  
  

Working Conditions

• Exposure to varied and extreme temperatures
• Working in confined or unsanitary areas
• Working from heights, ladders, and equipment
• Physically demanding environment with regular lifting over 50 lbs
• Extended travel and long working hours may be required
  
  

Physical Requirements

• Bending, lifting, climbing, and standing for long periods
• Comfortable working at heights (e.g., silos, bins)
• Must be able to handle physically intensive tasks daily
