Job summary

ADF Group in Terrebonne is seeking a committed welder to join our team on a Monday–Thursday schedule, 3:15 p.m. to 1:45 a.m. with hourly wages of 27.24–38.36 CAD and a $1.75 evening premium.

You will operate welding machines, read blueprints, and uphold strict quality standards on welded steel structures. Qualifications

• Vocational welding diploma (D.E.P.) or ASP certification required.
• Minimum of one year of experience in welded steel structures preferred.
• CWB cards/certification an asset (FCAW/SMAW/GMAW/SAW).
• Experience operating overhead cranes and rigging/loading assets.
• Able to read blueprints/welding symbols.
• Experience with welding machines, grinders, torches, gouging tools.
• Manual dexterity, autonomy, teamwork; bilingual in French/English an asset.

Responsibilities

• Operate welding machines (semi-automatic, FCAW, CO2) for fillet or groove welds.
• Read and interpret welding blueprints or instructions.
• Follow quality procedures and manufacturing standards.
• Perform torch cutting.
• Set up/adjust machines for amperage, voltage, pressure, feed rate, and positioning.
• Meet non-destructive testing requirements or inspections.
• Report defects to supervisor and protect equipment.
• Gouge and clean metal parts.
• Operate an overhead crane.
• Apply welding techniques to maximize productivity and maintain weld quality.
• Perform other related duties.

Job description

• Monday to Thursday, from 3:15 p.m. to 1:45 a.m.

Hourly wage ranging from $27.24/hour to $38.36/hour and Evening shift premium of $1.75/hour.

Contributing in this role means :

• Operate welding machines (semi-automatic, FCAW, CO2) to perform fillet or groove welds;
• Read and interpret welding blueprints or instructions;
• Follow quality procedures, work instructions, or the company’s manufacturing standards;
• Perform torch cutting;
• Set up and adjust machines, gauges, etc., for amperage, voltage, pressure, feed rate, and the speed of rollers, rotators, or positioners;
• Meet the requirements for non-destructive testing or equivalent inspections;
• Pay close visual attention, note and report material, tool, or equipment defects to the supervisor, and protect them from damage;
• Gouge and clean metal parts;
• Operate an overhead crane;
• Apply the best welding techniques to ensure optimal productivity and minimal distortion of parts, while maintaining weld quality and deposition rate;
• Perform any other related duties.

What we are looking for

• Possess a vocational diploma in welding (D.E.P.) or an equivalent ASP certification;
• Minimum of one (1) year of experience required in the fabrication of welded steel structures (an asset);
• Hold FCAW / SMAW / GMAW / SAW competency cards and certification from the Canadian Welding Bureau (an asset);
• Experience operating overhead cranes, as well as in lifting, rigging, and loading operations (an asset);
• Proficient in reading blueprints and welding symbols;
• Experience with welding machines, grinders, torches, and arc gouging tools;
• Knowledge of rigging operations and loading methods;
• Manual dexterity, autonomy, and strong teamwork skills;
• Spoken and written proficiency in French and English (an asset).
