KPIC Maintenance Services Inc. (a member of the FWS Group of Companies) specializes in industrial maintenance services, providing preventative and reactive solutions along with small project retrofits and expansions primarily for clients in grain handling, feed mills, and food processing.
We are recruiting for a Welder for our Saskatoon and Yorkton, SK locations to join our collaborative and team-focused organization.

Position Overview:
- Utilize safe work practices and promote safety policies. Maintain a clean and safe work area.
- Proficient in standards, codes, best practices, and safe work policies.
- Responsible for safe use of equipment including forklift, skidsteer loader, scissor lifts, and power tools. Proficient in hoisting and rigging methods.
- Support Millwrights & Electricians; assist with mechanical inspections, troubleshooting, repairs, maintenance, and installations according to manufacturer specifications.
- Perform welding, fabrication, and field repairs of equipment.
- Interpret equipment and fabrication drawings; provide accurate layouts and ensure maintenance manuals are followed.
- Use various welding and cutting equipment effectively.
- Supervise labor and resources for specific tasks.
- Mentor and train junior workers.
- Complete daily paperwork legibly and according to KPIC standards.
- Maintain tools and ensure they are accounted for daily; keep the tool trailer organized.
Qualifications Needed:
- Reside near the posted position.
- Demonstrate honesty, integrity, and a customer-focused attitude.
- Motivated, positive, and able to handle multiple tasks independently or in a team.
- Welding aptitude with knowledge of welding principles and quality inspection.
- CWB certification (minimum flat position, all positions preferred, SMAW process) is an asset.
- Additional assets include B-Pressure certification, mechanical troubleshooting skills, experience with industrial drives, shafts, bearings, lubrication, and agricultural industry experience.
- Enrolled in an Apprenticeship program; Journeyman status is an asset.
- Ability to work in various environments, including cold, hot, dusty, and outdoor sites.
- Safety tickets such as First Aid, fall arrest, confined space, WHMIS, CSTS are preferred; current training proof may be requested.
- No previous safety violations within the FWS Group.
- Perform other assigned tasks.
Other Information:
- Valid Class 5 driver’s license and driver's abstract required.
- Flexible to work during scheduled shutdowns, shifts, overtime, and travel, including occasional overnight trips.
