Job summary

J-AAR is seeking a Welder to advance in heavy equipment repair and maintenance. You will perform MIG, TIG, and stick welding, read blueprints, and interpret work orders, both in shop and on road calls on construction equipment.

The role requires at least 5 years of experience, a welding certification, and the ability to lift up to 75 lbs. Health and safety compliance and independent work are essential in this fast-paced environment.

Qualifications

  • Minimum of 5 years’ experience with heavy construction equipment repair and maintenance.
  • Valid welding certification; CWB is considered an asset.
  • Must be able to lift/carry up to 75lbs.
  • Must be able to work independently with minimal supervision.
  • Adheres to Health and Safety regulations and company policies.
  • Ability to read blueprints and interpret work orders.

We are seeking a Welder who is aspiring to reach their potential in the field of heavy equipment repair and maintenance. J-AAR Assets and Logistics is responsible for repairing and maintaining vehicles, trucks and heavy equipment in support of our aggregate, concrete, asphalt and heavy civil divisions.

Environment

Our welders are integral to J-AAR's success, as they contribute not only through their welding expertise but also by performing mechanical repairs when necessary. This dynamic role encompasses work in both shop and field environments, providing variety and opportunities for growth. Welders at J-AAR demonstrate adaptability and skill while ensuring that the vehicles and heavy construction equipment function optimally across projects.

How You Will Make An IMPACT
  • Perform welding repairs on equipment in the shop and make road calls when required.
  • Able to meet job requirements in adverse field and weather conditions.
  • Able to read Blueprint drawings, interpret, and compose work orders.
  • Knowledge of heavy site construction equipment operation, maintenance, capability, use, and function.
  • Operate equipment and tools properly and safely.
  • Able to MIG, TIG, and stick weld.
  • Monitor and maintain appropriate supply levels.
