About Us

Cigar Lake, located in northern Saskatchewan, is the world's highest-grade uranium mine. The uranium produced at Cigar Lake is used for nuclear fuel products, which utilities around the world rely on to generate safe, reliable, emissions-free nuclear power. Cameco is one of the largest global providers of the uranium fuel needed to energize a clean-air world.

The Role

In this role, you will:

  • Be responsible for performing predictive and preventative maintenance checks on a regular basis to ensure safe and reliable production.
  • Perform welding work on structures and equipment to stated specifications.
  • Troubleshoot structure and equipment failures and document and perform repairs.

Required:

  • Grade 12 diploma or equivalent.
  • Valid Saskatchewan or inter-provincial journeyperson welder ticket.
  • Five years of industrial experience in heavy industry, mill or mining environment.
  • B pressure SMAW F3/F4 (carbon steel) – 25mm (2”).
  • Ability to interpret blueprints.
  • Wear respiratory protection, such as powered air purifying respirator.
  • Team player with good communication skills.
  • Safety focused.
  • Work a rotational schedule and commute to site by aircraft.

Recommended:

  • Previous underground maintenance experience.
  • Stainless steel pressure license GTAW/SNAW F6/F5 – 25mm (2”).
  • SAP experience or equivalent maintenance program.
  • Familiar with digital and online meetings, knowledge of working in Microsoft.
