Weld Monitor

Hourly Rate : $33.51 - Fully Qualified (starts at Learner 1: $28.48/hr; Learner 2: $30.15/hr; Learner 3: $31.83/hr)

We have opportunities for you to join our production team as a Weld Monitor at our Cambridge, Ontario facility.

Primary Function :

To monitor materials and processes using standard testing procedures; maintain records; oversee in-house welder certification testing.

Responsibilities :

  • Read and interpret work orders, drawings, shop instruction sheets, manufacturing procedures, quality control instructions, weld procedure specifications, welding cards; verify workpiece material, preheat, interpass requirements, and settings.
  • Update electronic welder qualification systems.
  • Issue weld consumables.
  • File and maintain documents.
  • Close work orders and perform data entry.
  • Work safely, demonstrating good workmanship and practices.

Qualifications :

  • Successfully completed a welding program with 1.5 years of manual welding experience and holding a TSSA or CWB ticket for all-position plate or pipe welding.
  • Proficiency with computers.
  • Availability to work all shifts :
    • Weekday days: 6:00 a.m. – 4:00 p.m. (Mon – Thurs)
    • Weekday afternoons: 4:00 p.m. – 2:00 a.m. (Mon – Thurs)
    • Weekend days: 6:00 a.m. – 5:00 p.m. (Fri, Sat, Sun; paid for 40 hours)
    • Weekend afternoons: 5:00 p.m. – 4:00 a.m. (Fri, Sat, Sun; paid for 40 hours)

Additional Assets :

  • Previous experience in heavy manufacturing or nuclear power-related industries.
  • Strong commitment to quality and teamwork, with a willingness to go the extra mile to meet customer expectations.
