Job Description

As a Weigh Scale Technician, you will install, maintain, and repair scales for our customers across the Maritimes. You will service industrial scales in industries such as construction, fishing, and oil and gas. This role reports to the Weigh Scale Team Lead.

Responsibilities

  1. Install and maintain scales at customer sites.
  2. Advise customers on proper equipment operation and basic maintenance.
  3. Repair scales at customer sites.
  4. Respond to emergency repairs professionally and efficiently.
  5. Provide technical assistance to customers.
  6. Analyze and troubleshoot equipment problems.
  7. Resolve issues independently or with colleagues.
  8. Make necessary field corrections.
  9. Maintain a clean and organized work area, vehicle, and equipment.
  10. Follow safety standards according to company and client policies.
  11. Prepare accurate service reports and calibration certificates.
  12. Complete required training sessions.

Qualifications

  1. Post-secondary education with a strong electrical/mechanical background (preferred).
  2. Minimum of 2 years of relevant experience.
  3. Detail-oriented, flexible, and capable of working independently or in a team.
  4. Proficient in Microsoft Office; strong organizational and communication skills.
  5. Basic knowledge of computer scales.
  6. Knowledge of safety manuals and site safety requirements is an asset.
  7. Experience repairing industrial and retail weigh scales is an asset.
  8. Willing to undergo in-house training.
  9. Valid Class 5 driver’s license with a clean driving record; a Class 3 license is an asset.
  10. Willing to travel for on-site service calls and contracts.
