The Territory Account Manager serves as the primary liaison between WEG Marathon and its customers, representing the Marathon Industrial motors business. This role involves managing a specific list of accounts, focusing on daily activities, revenue growth, and profitability. Responsibilities include identifying new business opportunities, developing relationships, providing technical and commercial solutions, and exceeding revenue and profit targets. Additional duties include implementing account plans, conducting training, and promoting new products and solutions.

Reporting to the National Sales Manager, the Account Manager offers market insights, project updates, and strategic discussions on pricing and channel management. The role has dotted-line responsibilities to other business leaders. Ideally based in Calgary or Edmonton.

Key Responsibilities
  • Manage a defined list of accounts and develop new accounts in Toronto and surrounding areas, focusing on WEG Marathon industrial motors.
  • Create and implement account strategies to achieve sales and profitability goals.
  • Collaborate with distributors and OEMs in the region, maintaining end-user contacts as needed. Conduct account planning, forecasting, presentations, and training.
  • Showcase the value of Marathon motors, develop pricing and application strategies with support from management and marketing.
  • Maintain a sales pipeline to ensure ongoing success, utilizing CRM tools.
  • Understand customer needs, market dynamics, and competitor activities; communicate trends effectively.
  • Build and sustain positive customer relationships.
  • Coordinate with the broader Marathon team including Customer Service, Marketing, and Operations.
  • Participate in trade shows, training, market initiatives, and other sales activities.
Professional Experience/Qualifications
  • Technical diploma or degree in electrical or mechanical disciplines.
  • Engineering or CET certification is an asset.
  • At least 5 years of technical B2B sales experience, preferably in the motor market.
  • Experience working with distributors and OEMs.
  • Proficiency in MS Office (especially Excel) and CRM systems.
  • Valid driver’s license required.
  • Willingness to travel locally and occasionally overnight, including potential trips to the USA.
