Job Description
Join our dynamic team as an Event Specialist, where you'll play a pivotal role in managing all inbound business inquiries and ensuring seamless event experiences. You will guide clients through the event cycle with meticulous attention to detail, using tools like Delphi and Social Tables to share accurate event information with both clients and our internal teams. Your commitment to exceptional service will delight our clients and encourage repeat business. The Day to Day :
- Network and create relationships with new and current clients
- Communicate with clients, gather event details, prepare packages, and send event confirmation details
- Use sales tools to effectively close leads, including proposals, site tours, and planning meetings
- Follow up with clients using post-event information to create opportunities for new bookings and moments of truth
- Provide superior customer service through client feedback and repeat events
- Have a keen eye for details and ask important questions when planning an event
- Manage time effectively to meet weekly deadlines for BEOs and respond efficiently to client requests
- Contribute to the annual sales targets of the events team, produce accurate forecasts, and speak to the business they are producing
- Share ideas and collaborate with team members to contribute to venue goals
- Identify great business opportunities and present them to management for negotiation
- Anticipate operational and kitchen needs of the business unit
- Maintain a positive attitude towards work, team, and company
Qualifications
- Post-secondary diploma / degree in Business or Hospitality
- Minimum 2 years’ experience coordinating and / or executing a variety of events, including small, large, and high-profile functions
- Experience planning and executing private dining functions is preferable
- Understanding of equipment and event rentals is an asset
- Administrative experience and exposure to marketing and sales are assets
- Restaurant experience is an asset
- Proven ability to work in a team with self-motivation and independence
- Excellent communication skills, both oral and written, with the ability to engage clients
- Proficient in MS Office (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint)
- Strong attention to detail, organizational skills, and sales ability
- Ability to multi-task, prioritize, and work with a sense of urgency
