Ascend Fundraising Solutions is a charitable gaming provider who works with foundations and non-profits across Canada, the United States and the UK. With over 500+ clients, we are the leading provider of raffle, sweepstakes and lottery solutions in the world.

Would you like to make charitable giving more accessible and help to make a difference in the world? We are looking for a forward-thinking and technically inclined individual to create promotional designs and execute on responsive website templates using WordPress and Shopify. This role will report into our Director of Client Services and be based in our Toronto office.

We are actively casting a wide net across North America and the UK to increase revenue for Charities and Foundations for the social good of all. Work hard, play hard, and overall have a lot of fun in our downtown Toronto, harbor front office. Please note that our team will be working remotely and transition to in-office as we reopen.

Job Requirements :

Ascend is looking for a talented Website Operations Specialist with a passion for social impact using their development skills to maintain existing client sites. This individual needs to be thoughtful and extremely attentive to detail, with an efficient work style. The successful candidate will also require a solid understanding of HTML, CSS and design principles. Qualified applicants will need to be familiar with WordPress, Shopify and Payload.

Experience And Technical Skills :

  • 2+ years experience with front end web development
  • Experience with the code editing tools Brackets / VS CODE is an asset
  • Strong understanding of and experience with WORDPRESS.
  • Knowledge of Shopify, Payload and Liquid. - Bonus
  • Experience in front end web design with knowledge of basic UI / UX principles
  • Experience using common communication and productivity tools like Slack, Outlook, Teams.
  • Prior experience with Project managements tools like Notion and JIRA (optional) or similar tools; ability to learn / grasp the same quickly.
  • Experience using Adobe Photoshop. Figma and Canva.

Throughout the Day, You Would Be Responsible For :

  • Publish websites using our customized WordPress or Payload, and Shopify website templates
  • Perform site updates outlined in Notion.
  • Conduct system version upgrades for web platforms and digital display interfaces.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve template functionality issues
  • Utilize Notion project management system to manage tasks
  • Suggest improvements in workflow processes to increase efficiency
  • Communicate internally on calls, over Slack, email, and via Notion, with other departments to ensure high quality and timely delivery of tasks

  • Great communications skills both over the phone and email
  • Decision-making abilities, critical thinking skills with a self-starter attitude
  • Ability to follow brand style guides
  • Ability to work quickly and efficiently within project deadlines.
  • Strong organization skills including maintaining job folders, documentation and design assets
  • Adaptable and willing to learn new techniques.
