Job Description :

Position Summary : Responsible for responding to incidents on provincial highways, including traffic accidents, spills, and emergencies, and assisting police and emergency services.

Note : Role may include equipment operation for seasonal road maintenance. Start date in 2025.

Primary Duties :

• Serve as liaison with emergency responders during incidents.
• Communicate with Traffic Operations Centre via radio and phone.
• Complete incident reports and coordinate detours.
• Investigate fatalities and maintain incident files.
• Assist with third-party claims documentation.
• Coordinate traffic control for events and closures.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities :

• Ability to work independently, prioritize, and problem-solve.
• Knowledge of emergency response principles and safety awareness.
• Effective communication and hazard recognition skills.
• Ability to wear PPE and follow safety protocols.

Education and Experience :

• High School Diploma required.
• At least 2 years' experience in highway maintenance or traffic control.
• Valid Class DZ driver's license with a good record.
• OTM BOOK 7 certification required.

Working Conditions :

Exposure to weather, chemicals, insects, and noise. Physical demands include working outdoors in various conditions.
