Overview

First Class Conferencing Facilitation is a full-stack event management company which services the legal sector primarily. We manage legal proceedings for a variety of different government organizations, companies, and independent arbitrators and mediators. Some examples of our clients include the Office of the Chief Coroners, the Ontario Physicians and Surgeons Tribunal (and many other health discipline tribunals), Tribunals Ontario, the Society of Adjudicators and Regulators, and the Federal Public Sector Labour Relations and Employment Board. We define ourselves as a full-stack event management company because we not only manage meetings and hearings but also have built registration systems, backend databases, live stream proceedings, facilitate hybrid and in-person meetings, manage simultaneous and consecutive interpretation for hearings and do much more for our clients.

Your Role

This position requires you to facilitate and manage professional meetings, hearings, and legal proceedings on numerous different conferencing platforms as well as provide on-demand technical support to your clients throughout the day.

A Web Conferencing Technician has numerous different roles and responsibilities. You are to provide tech support for a variety of different meetings, events, and legal proceedings. In these meetings you also help facilitate the proceeding by sharing exhibits, manage the breakout rooms, test and troubleshoot witnesses' devices and participants tech set up, and would be in charge of moving participants in and out of meetings; for example during objections, excluding the witness. Before the proceedings you may host orientations, send out Zoom or MS Teams invites to clients, and organize exhibits and documents. You may also be required to live-stream the proceeding to the public. Below are 2 examples of client streams that our team manages and is in charge of.

Office of the Chief Coroner | Ontario Physicians and Surgeons Tribunal

In this role you may also be required to facilitate hybrid proceedings where some participants attend remotely and other participants are in person. For hybrid proceedings our team sets up and manages all the necessary AV equipment (speakers, projectors, microphones, cameras, audio mixers, etc). As well as providing tech support, connects remote participants, manages breakout rooms, share up exhibits, and more.

More details on this Position

  • Part time availability
  • Proficiency in written and spoken French in a fluent or bilingual capacity
  • Paid $160/per booking
  • Each booking is 8 hours long so hourly you are paid $20/hour
  • If your booking ends early you are still paid for the whole 8 hours
  • If your booking goes past 8 hours you will be paid $25/hour

  • Experience with Office 365, Google workspace, Slack, Canva, DocuSign, and Adobe Acrobat.
  • Strong understanding of Zoom and MS Teams settings and layout
  • knowledge of breakout rooms, sharing settings, sending out invites, interpretation features, Q and A, and webinars
  • Experienced with OBS and Wowza for live streaming
