We are seeking a versatile Web Applications Developer with a focus on Marketing Systems, to design, develop, and maintain custom web-based tools that support marketing operations and business intelligence. This role bridges IT development and marketing analytics by building user-friendly web interfaces, automating workflows, and managing marketing-related data systems to drive smarter, data-informed decisions
- Design, develop, and maintain web-based applications and internal tools for marketing and business users.
- Build dashboards, reporting systems, and data pipelines for marketing data (e.g., CRM, web traffic, email campaign performance).
- Collaborate with marketing and sales teams to understand workflow needs and translate them into effective digital solutions.
- Integrate third-party APIs (e.g., Google Analytics, HubSpot, Meta Ads) to consolidate marketing data into centralized tools.
- Ensure data accuracy, consistency, and accessibility through well-designed backend systems and user interfaces.
- Monitor and optimize performance of web tools and applications, addressing issues proactively.
- Contribute to documentation and user training for internal tools.
Requirements:
- Experience in web development:
- Backend Development: Programming Languages (e.g. Python, Node.js, or PHP), Web Frameworks, Database Management, API Development, and Authentication.
- Design & User Experience: UI/UX Design Tools,Prototyping & Wireframing, and User Testing & Feedback Loops
- SEO & Performance: SEO Best Practices, Performance Optimization, and Analytics Integration.
- DevOps & Hosting: Version Control, Web Hosting/Servers, CI/CD Pipelines, SSL & HTTPS Setup, and Server Monitoring & Logs.
- Security: Data Validation & Sanitization, HTTPS and Secure Headers, Rate Limiting/Bot Protection, and Backup & Disaster Recovery.
- Experience working with databases (eg MySQL, MariaDB, NoSQL) and data processing workflows.
- Experience with content management systems: CMS Knowledge, Content Strategy, and Markdown/Rich Text Editors.
- Experience with marketing and graphic content design tools:
- Familiarity with design tools like Figma (for inspecting UI layouts), basic image editing in Photoshop or Photopea, and working with vector graphics/SVGs using Illustrator or similar tools.
- Ability to export and optimize assets for web use.
- Experience with responsive design principles and collaborating with UI/UX designers is a plus.
- Familiarity with marketing tools such as CRMs, analytics platforms, and related APIs.
- Ability for occasional travel as required.
Academic and Trades Qualifications:
- Degree, diploma, or certification in web-based programming
- Minimum 5 years experience in marketing tool development
- Degree, diploma, or certification in digital marketing or minimum 5 years equivalent related work experience would be an asset.
