Provides wealth planning, advanced financial planning, guidance, and counsel focused on High Net Worth and Ultra High Net Worth (HNW / UHNW) client segments. Works collaboratively with BMO Private Wealth relationship managers to develop and deliver a client-focused wealth planning experience culminating in a documented wealth strategy. Participates in the end-to-end wealth planning process, from discovery to financial analysis, development of high-value financial plans and recommendations, to coaching and assisting with client presentations. Supports growth and retention of client assets by providing wealth planning advice to BMO Private Wealth relationship managers, aiming to broaden client dialogue, consolidate assets, and increase revenues. Executes disciplined sales and wealth management strategies to support regional and national growth while enhancing the client experience.

  1. Leads and facilitates goals-based discovery processes directly with clients, ensuring standards for data capture and plan creation are met to maintain effective knowledge management.
  2. Develops detailed and complex financial plans to help clients meet their financial objectives, including conducting presentations as needed.
  3. Implements strategies to expand service scope, helping clients achieve personal goals and contributing to business growth.
  4. Builds internal and external networks and referral sources to grow the business within the assigned region.
  5. Ensures regional client experience standards for financial planning and relationship development are met.
  6. Acts as a trusted advisor to the business/group.
  7. Assists in strategic planning and identifies emerging issues and trends to inform decision-making.
  8. Supports strategic initiatives in collaboration with stakeholders and helps prioritize business activities.
  9. Performs independent analysis to resolve strategic issues.
  10. Works closely with relationship managers in developing and delivering HNW management solutions.
  11. Collaborates with branch managers to increase awareness of wealth planning services.
  12. Leverages expert resources in taxation, estate & trust, and succession planning to provide insights to clients.
  13. Builds effective relationships with stakeholders and provides strategic insights and recommendations.
  14. Typically, the WPC leads planning for clients with $2 - $5 million in assets; the Senior WPC handles clients with $5 - $7 million, with capacity for larger portfolios as needed.
  15. Provides coaching and training to relationship managers to support wealth management solutions.
  16. Develops and executes sales campaigns and awareness articles for relationship managers.
  17. Delivers proactive, integrated, and customized advice, implementing wealth strategies to help clients achieve financial goals.
  18. Reinforces sales processes and enhances the client experience by identifying gaps and best practices in wealth planning delivery.
  19. Demonstrates a consultative, collaborative approach to facilitate the client experience and meet business objectives.
  20. Offers expertise on advanced financial planning topics including tax, estate, succession, and philanthropy.
  21. Adheres to all banking, investment, and lending regulations, policies, procedures, and risk guidelines to protect the bank’s assets.
  22. Works primarily within the business/group but may have broader responsibilities.
  23. Provides specialized consulting and technical support, exercising judgment within established rules.
  24. Handles non-routine situations independently; broader responsibilities may be assigned as needed.

Qualifications :

  • WPC: 1-3 years relevant experience and a related post-secondary degree.
  • Senior WPC: 3-5 years relevant experience and a related post-secondary degree.
  • Experience selling to Investment Advisors or HNW clients.
  • Financial planning experience is an asset.
  • CFP designation required.
  • MBA, LL.B, LL.M, Life Insurance, Trust & Estate Practitioner designations are assets.
  • Knowledge of financial planning software (WealthPath / Voyant) is an asset.
  • Strong communication, collaboration, analytical, and influence skills.

The base salary in Halifax ranges from $100,000 to $145,000 plus an annual performance bonus.

Salary range: $61,200 - $114,400.
