The Finance Division reports to the Chief Financial Officer and comprises approximately 3,000 employees worldwide. It safeguards the Morgan Stanley franchise by maintaining the firm's books and records, contributing to firm-wide risk management and reduction, and liaising with industry and government regulators. The division also acts as the conduit for financial information to the external investment community. Finance plays a vital advisory role to Morgan Stanley's various businesses and senior management.

Team Profile:

The Finance Division, reporting to the CFO, includes about 3,000 employees globally. It ensures the integrity of the firm's financial records, manages risk, and maintains regulatory relationships. The division supports internal and external reporting, including public filings and regulatory submissions, and collaborates with Financial Planning and Analysis to forecast and analyze financial health, including income statements and balance sheets.

Responsibilities:

As part of the Business Unit Controller team, you will support Morgan Stanley at Work and Wealth Management Canada. Your responsibilities include:

  1. Managing budgeting, forecasting, and key metric reporting for the specified units, working with Finance and stakeholders.
  2. Leading analysis, forecasting, and presentation of asset metrics.
  3. Presenting financial and non-financial results and insights to senior leaders to inform strategic decisions.
  4. Developing analyses to support forecasting, budgeting, and long-term planning.
  5. Leading quarterly due diligence, ensuring accurate reporting, compliance, and risk assessment.
  6. Partnering with stakeholders to support strategic initiatives and product growth.
  7. Managing and mentoring 2-3 direct reports.
  8. Motivating and developing staff through effective leadership.
  9. Supporting key initiatives, including new products, acquisitions, divestitures, and data analysis.
  10. Providing ad hoc analysis and support as needed.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting and/or Corporate Finance with 10+ years of experience.
  • Results-oriented with strategic focus.
  • Strong analytical and interpersonal skills.
  • Effective written and verbal communication skills.
  • Self-motivated, with a strong work ethic, positive attitude, and ability to work independently and in teams.
  • Excellent partnership skills and ability to interact across support groups, including presentations to all levels.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint, Tableau, or similar software.
  • Effective time management skills, with the ability to meet deadlines and handle multiple tasks.

Work Environment:

Role requires in-office attendance 3-5 days per week.
