Qualifications

  • 2-5 years of industrial mechanical experience, preferably in food manufacturing.
  • Valid Red Seal Millwright License preferred; open to unlicensed mechanics.

Overview

Location: 695 Martindale, Sudbury, ON

Pay rate: $35.25 plus retention bonus, performance bonus, and shift premium

Shift: Rotating days, afternoons, nights, including some weekends (10-12 hour shifts)

Responsibilities
  • Read and interpret blueprints and diagrams for work procedures
  • Install, troubleshoot, and maintain mechanical and pneumatic systems
  • Inspect machinery, identify issues, and perform repairs or adjustments
  • Operate machine tools for fabrication and maintenance
  • Assemble and install machinery using appropriate tools and welding equipment
  • Perform troubleshooting, repairs, and installations with electrical knowledge
  • Ensure safety, efficiency, and reliability of equipment, participating in continuous improvement
  • Adhere to safety policies and maintain a clean work environment
  • Perform preventative maintenance and overhauls
  • Contribute to design improvements for equipment
  • Follow all safety and environmental regulations
  • Perform other duties as assigned
Requirements
  • Valid Red Seal Millwright License (Industrial Millwright 433A) preferred; open to unlicensed mechanics
  • 2-5 years of industrial mechanical experience, preferably in food manufacturing
  • Experience with mechanics, machine shop practices, pneumatics, and hydraulics
  • Strong problem-solving and communication skills
  • Proficiency with computers
  • Ability to work independently and in a team
  • Ability to lift up to 50 lbs
  • Adaptability to a fast-paced environment with varying challenges
  • Flexible to work day, afternoon, night shifts, including weekends and holidays
