Job summary

Wattpad is seeking an HR Generalist to shape the employee experience from day one through milestones, building a solid HR foundation and smooth operations for the team in Toronto. The role focuses on welcoming, recognizing, and connecting employees while handling lifecycle processes.

You will manage onboarding, ongoing communications, leave administration, and cyclical People processes, with a hands-on, employee-centered approach in a high-growth environment.

Qualifications

• 2-4 years of experience in HR, people operations, employee experience or talent acquisition.
• Ability to communicate in a confidential and clear manner with employees and managers.
• Experience with an HRIS (e.g, ADP Workforce Now, BambooHR).
• Strong written communication skills: you can write a crisp, warm employee announcement without heavy editing.
• Organized and reliable: you juggle multiple programs, deadlines, and budgets without letting things slip.
• Strong attention to detail and follow-through.
• Experience working in a fast-paced, high-growth environment.
• Discretion and good judgment with confidential information.

We're looking for an HR Generalist to help shape how employees experience our workplace from their first day through every milestone after. You'll curate the moments that make people feel welcomed, recognized, and connected, while also building the operational HR foundation that keeps our Wattpad HR team running smoothly.

• Familiarity with immigration processes including LMIAs and work permits.

• Working toward CHRP designation or equivalent.

$70,000 - $85,000 a year
