Job summary

Ainley Group is seeking a Site Inspector to support a wastewater treatment plant expansion in the Simcoe County area, based out of the Collingwood office. The successful candidate will provide construction inspection services and work with contractors, clients, and project stakeholders.

Responsibilities include overseeing construction activities, verifying workmanship to contract documents, and coordinating across civil, mechanical, electrical, and instrumentation disciplines.

Qualifications

• Diploma in Civil/Construction/Mechanical/Electrical Engineering Technology or equivalent with construction experience.
• Minimum 5 years of site inspection or related field experience in municipal water/wastewater facilities.
• OACETT designation as C.E.T. or C.Tech.
• Experience with sewage pumping stations, wastewater treatment plants, and water facilities is a strong asset.
• Familiarity with electrical, instrumentation, SCADA on municipal facilities is an asset.
• Ability to read and interpret civil/structural/mechanical/electrical drawings and specifications.
• Knowledge of OHSA and provincial specs (OPSS, MECP) asset.

Responsibilities

• Provide site inspection services for construction, rehabilitation and upgrade of municipal water and wastewater facilities.
• Oversee construction activities to verify workmanship, equipment and materials meet contract documents.
• Monitor multiple disciplines and coordinate with discipline leads as required.
• Observe installation of equipment, piping, valves, HVAC, electrical and instrumentation.
• Record progress, deficiencies, non-conforming work and potential issues.
• Verify quantities and maintain daily inspection reports and photos.
• Assist with changes, change orders and extra work documentation.
• Participate in progress, site and coordination meetings.
• Liaise with Contract Administrator, Project Manager, Client and contractors.
• Assist in resolving field and construction issues and closeout tasks.
• Monitor health and safety compliance and report concerns.
• Perform other inspection duties as assigned.
