Your Opportunity

Reporting directly to the London and Waterloo Treatment Team Lead, in your role as a Water/Wastewater Process Engineer you will work within our treatment team to deliver wastewater projects for our clients in Southern Ontario. Through our water and wastewater sector network, you will have opportunities to contribute to projects across Canada and the rest of North America.

Your Key Responsibilities

  • Consistently demonstrate a commitment to the Health and Safety culture within Stantec
  • Perform and manage process engineering design tasks on wastewater projects through collaboration with a wide range of technical disciplines. Routine technical tasks may include:
  • Design basis documents and reports
  • Wastewater characterization and sampling plans
  • Process hydraulic modeling
  • Engineering calculations including heat and material balances
  • Engineering drawings including process flow diagrams, P&IDs, and general arrangements
  • Feasibility studies
  • Presentations to clients, regulatory agencies and/or project stakeholders
  • Work with the Water and Wastewater Sector Leader, Project Technical Leads, and Project Managers to support their Process Engineering needs on projects
  • Conduct occasional site visits

Qualifications

Your Capabilities and Credentials

  • Proven technical skills applicable to delivering municipal projects including typical engineering calculations, literature reviews, specifications, and drawing preparations
  • Has a firm grasp of wastewater treatment engineering design technologies and wastewater characterization
  • Ability to develop hydraulic modeling boundary conditions and calculations
  • Proficient in calculations related to conventional and advanced water and wastewater treatment design
  • Understands phases of engineering and capital project delivery, and typical water regulatory approval processes
  • Ability to organize and prioritize work to meet multiple deadlines
  • Works in a team environment with supervision
  • Comfortable writing and communicating
  • Holds a valid drivers’ licence

Education And Experience

  • Undergraduate degree in environmental, chemical, mechanical, or civil engineering.
  • Advanced degree with minimum of 2 years working experience preferred.
  • Experience with water / wastewater process engineering services for municipal clients in Canada is preferred.
