Job summary

Ontario Clean Water Agency (OCWA) is seeking a water/wastewater professional to operate and maintain facilities in the Northeastern Region. The role requires completing and maintaining OIT to Class IV credentials, with on-call duties and potential for under-fill placement with certification support.

The position offers salary ranges listed per hour, opportunities for overtime, and pay enhancements for water/wastewater certification.

Qualifications

• Operator-in-Training (OIT) to Class IV certificate or license for Water Treatment, Wastewater Treatment and Collection, Water Distribution and Supply.
• May be considered as under-fill if minimum OIT is met.
• Must be able to pass class 1 certification within 12 months if under-fill.
• Able to work overtime and on-call rotation; valid driver’s license (Class G).

Responsibilities

• Operate and maintain water and wastewater facilities in the Northeastern Region.
• Respond to on-call rotations and overtime as required.
• Follow health and safety regulations and WHMIS requirements.
• Monitor processes and adjust operations to ensure safety and reliability.
