Job description

Water Treatment Utility Relief (temporary)

This employment opportunity is open only to Canadian citizens, landed immigrants in Canada, or foreign nationals legally authorized to work in Canada.

Your mission:

The role involves providing relief coverage for Water Treatment Plant operators and utility support for the Power and Recovery department.

• Provide relief coverage for Water Treatment Plant Operator
• Collect water samples and perform tests
• Operate equipment and troubleshoot as needed
• Maintain logbooks and test sheets
• Perform lockouts and verify lockout procedures
• Follow safety protocols, participate in safety training, and promote a safe work environment
• Conduct tank watch and gas testing as required
• Perform diversified duties during mill shutdowns
• Utility duties in Power and Recovery including stocking sulfur bags, soap skimming, railcar loading/unloading, and general cleaning

Your profile:

• Grade 12 or equivalent, including two of Chem 20, Math 20, or Physics 20
• Class 5 driver’s license
• Must complete Water Treatment Level 1 certification within 18 months if not already obtained
• Ability to analyze water quality data and troubleshoot operational issues
• Strong communication skills
• Proactive, detail-oriented, and team-oriented attitude
• Willingness to learn, grow, and succeed

Our offer:

• Start: immediately or within two weeks
• Location: Hinton, AB
• Type: temporary position with potential for permanent employment
• Schedule: 4 on/4 off shifts, straight days unless relief coverage requires nights
• Rate: $34.72/hour
