Insight Global is hiring a Senior Technical Water Resources Engineer to join a leading Surface Water team with one of our top consulting clients. This is a fantastic opportunity for a seasoned professional with 20+ years of experience in hydrologic and hydraulic modeling, mine water management, and multi-disciplinary project delivery. In this role you will take a lead role in technical execution, provide mentorship to junior staff, and contribute to the strategic planning and implementation of complex water-related initiatives across Canada and internationally.

Skills and Requirements
  • Degree in Civil or Environmental Engineering; advanced degrees are an asset
  • 20+ years in water resources engineering and consulting
  • Licensed Professional Engineer in Ontario
  • Proven leadership in technical delivery, mentoring, and cross-team collaboration
  • Advanced modeling skills using HEC-HMS, HEC-RAS, Visual OTTHYMO, and PCSWMM
  • Proficient in 2D/3D hydrodynamic and water quality modeling tools like CORMIX and MIKE 3
  • Experience with water balance modeling and probabilistic analysis using GoldSim
  • Skilled in AutoCAD, Civil 3D, and GIS platforms (ArcMap, ArcGIS)
  • Strong background in surface water assessments, permitting, and ECA approvals
  • Expertise in designing and implementing water monitoring programs
  • Knowledge of stormwater systems and hydraulic structures (channels, culverts, weirs, dams, ponds, etc.)
  • Familiar with mine water management and surface–groundwater interaction modeling
  • Experience with streamflow monitoring and installation programs
  • Valid Ontario Class G Driver’s License with clean record and vehicle access
  • Fluency in French or Spanish is considered an asset
