Barr Engineering Co. in Calgary seeks a senior water resources engineer to join and lead a hybrid team. You will perform hydrologic and hydraulic analyses for rivers, floodplains, and conveyance systems, and mentor junior staff.
The role requires 10+ years of experience, a B.Sc. in civil/environmental engineering, and P.Eng. eligibility. You’ll engage with clients and agencies, manage projects, and contribute to reports and design work.
The role – what you’ll do Barr is seeking a senior water resources engineer to join our Calgary team. In this hybrid role, you will support hydrologic analysis for rural and urban settings; hydraulic analysis and design related to rivers, streams, conveyances, dams, and other hydraulic structures; impact assessments; and natural channel design, as well as work with clients, permitting agencies, and public officials. Assignments may also include leading project teams with a variety of technical backgrounds and disciplines. A successful person in this role will have strong interpersonal, oral, and written communication skills. They must possess a flexible working style and be willing to occasionally modify their schedule to meet deadlines and/or client needs.
Hybrid: a hybrid work arrangement may be considered for this position. A hybrid work arrangement refers to splitting time worked between a Barr office and a home office. This position is based out of Barr’s Calgary, Alberta, office. Work environment: ability to work in an office environment. Anticipated range of $120,000–$170,000 annually. Compensation will vary based on relevant experience, education, skill level, and other compensable factors. Employees in this position may also be eligible for a discretionary cash bonus based on team and individual performance. #LI-Hybrid
