SUMMARY:

The position is responsible for water quality monitoring.

ACCOUNTABILITIES:

  • Develops a world-class water quality monitoring program
  • Works closely with a diverse team to respond to water quality issues and develop timely solutions
  • Ensures that water quality data are documented and tracked
  • Assists with research programs aimed at improved quality of care of the animals that live at the Vancouver Aquarium
  • Maintains and upgrades water quality laboratory equipment
  • Ensures timely reporting of water quality results to all stakeholders

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Diploma or degree in biology, environmental science, or a similar related field.
  • 3-5 years of relevant experience
  • Registration for designation with a professional association is an asset
  • Experience leading water quality monitoring and maintenance of field equipment including water quality meters
  • Ability to work in physically demanding remote field settings for extended durations
  • Excellent verbal and written communications skills
  • Strong interpersonal skills and collaborative working style
  • Valid Class 5 driver's license (Preferred)

PROVISOS:

  • Successful completion of pre-employment requirements.
  • Must be willing to work outside of regular office hours when needed.

Pay Range: $24 - $34 / Hour
