Job Description

The Region of Peel is hiring a Water Quality & Compliance Specialist to support the safe delivery of drinking water services across the community. Based in Brampton with a flexible hybrid work model, this full-time role offers a salary range of $92,153 – $115,189 per year plus comprehensive benefits. As part of the Water & Wastewater division, you’ll oversee water quality monitoring programs, perform compliance checks, manage incident response, and support Peel’s Drinking Water Quality Management System (DWQMS). You’ll also work closely with internal teams and regulatory agencies to ensure adherence to provincial regulations and continuous service improvement. The ideal candidate will have a Bachelor of Science in Environmental or Applied Science, at least five years’ experience in municipal water systems, strong knowledge of Ontario water legislation (SDWA, DWQMS, etc.), and hold or be willing to obtain a Water Quality Analyst or Water Operator certification. Excellent communication, problem-solving, and technical writing skills are essential. A valid Class G driver’s licence is also required.
