Job summary

AQUATECH is seeking a Water Operator level III (WTP) in the Edmonton area to operate and maintain our water treatment plant under supervision. You will ensure regulatory monitoring, perform daily inspections, and support plant staff to keep facilities compliant and running smoothly.

This role offers 8/6 day rotation (8 days off, 6 days off), 8–10 hour shifts, and a comprehensive benefits package, RRSP matching, and opportunities for career growth with Canada's largest private operator of water

Qualifications

• Current WTP Level III minimum with proof of certification.
• Ability to lift 25 kg (55 lb) and work in a team.
• Strong problem solving and communication skills are required.

Responsibilities

• Carry out daily operation and monitoring of the water treatment plant.
• Provide operational support and troubleshooting for plant operations.
• Maintain inventory control of spare parts, chemicals, and consumables.
• Create maintenance requests and monitor lift stations as needed.
• Complete daily inspections, monitoring, and sampling; prepare reports.
• Perform laboratory analysis and reporting; participate in safety programs.
• Provide training and mentorship to plant staff; attend meetings.

Job Description

Working under the guidance of the supervisor, you're responsible for conducting the daily operation and maintenance of the Water Treatment Plant. This position will report to the Superintendant.

• The main responsibilities of the position include, but are not limited to:
  • Carry out the daily operation (regulatory monitoring and reporting process adjustments, chemical transferring and maintenance) of the facilities
  • Provide operational support & troubleshooting for plant operations
  • Maintain required inventory and inventory control of critical spare parts, chemicals, & consumables
  • Create maintenance requests
  • Monitor Lift Stations as required
  • Complete and compile data of daily inspections, monitoring, and sampling as required
  • Perform maintenance tasks as requested by the supervisor
  • Perform laboratory analysis and reporting
  • Preparation weekly, monthly, annual reports as required
  • Provide training and mentorship to plant operational staff
  • Participate in required meetings (in-person & remotely)
  • Participate, enforce, and comply with all aspects of the company's health and safety program

Hours of Work

The Operator position will be a 8/6 day rotation (8 days off, 6 days off), 8 to 10 hrs/d.

Qualifications

• Current WTP Level IIImin (proof of certification is required);
• Ability to lift 25 kg (55lb);
• Intermediate to advanced mechanical knowledge;
• Excellent problem solving skills;
• Strong independent worker and team player
• Good communication skills, both written and verbal
• Proven ability to supervise and communicate with staff members
• Positive attitude and able to promote a positive image of AQUATECH.
