City of White Rock seeks two Water Operator I to maintain and operate the water distribution system. You will sample water, monitor quality, inspect systems, and support meter/valve servicing and hydrant work.

Applicants must have Grade 12 with technical courses or equivalent, SCADA knowledge, and a valid BC driver’s license. A safety-first mindset is essential for this role, which may require occasional evening work.

Competenze

• Completion of Grade 12 supplemented by technical courses related to the work plus some related experience; or an equivalent combination of training and experience.
• Thorough knowledge of methods, practices, materials, tools and equipment used in maintenance, repair and installation of water meters, valves and related equipment, fittings and services.
• Safety precautions and hazards applicable to the work; ability to work with water distribution systems; SCADA familiarity.

Mansioni

• Check water quality through sampling and lab analysis.
• Assist in system inspections, maintenance and operations.
• Service/install/repair water meters, valves, mains and hydrants; respond to alarms and public calls.
