Job description

Compensation: $18 – $20 / hour (full-time / permanent)

The Job – Water Damage Technician

At On Side, Water Damage Technicians (WDTs) respond to situations such as burst pipes, blocked drains, sewer backups, and other water-related disasters. Besides working for the main branch, this position may also focus on our Healthcare work, where cleanliness and attention to detail are key.

Understanding the urgency of the situation and working with customers in a caring, calm, and empathetic manner are paramount to a WDT’s success. Working as a team, WDTs manage the cleanup to ensure everything is restored to the pre-disaster state.

  • Demolition skills—careful, mindful, and good housekeeping

  • Valid driver’s license & clean driver’s abstract
  • Ability to pass On Side’s criminal record check
  • Intermediate English communication skills

Previous industry experience (not required) that can contribute to success includes demolition work, carpentry, plumbing, construction, landscaping, truck operation, and similar trades.

Additional qualifications that contribute to success include:

  • IICRC Water Damage Technician Certification (we can help you obtain this if needed)

Note: Disaster response can occur at any time, requiring a rotating schedule of 24/7 on-call work.
