About the Role

Reporting to the Senior Project Manager, Capital Planning, this role involves leading projects related to water and wastewater planning, including master plans, capital plans, and other studies. Responsibilities include providing technical advice, maintaining hydraulic models, managing projects, and supporting development reviews.

Key Responsibilities
  1. Manage projects supporting master and asset management plans.
  2. Develop and refine processes for water and wastewater servicing and planning.
  3. Maintain and operate hydraulic models; analyze different scenarios.
  4. Prepare terms of reference, manage project budgets, and ensure quality and schedule adherence.
  5. Contribute to development-related financial and capacity planning.
  6. Participate in long-term infrastructure planning and review.
  7. Lead project teams and mentor staff.
  8. Support the transfer of facilities between the Region and municipalities.
  9. Develop performance metrics and monitor performance.
  10. Conduct technical analyses involving population, flow data, and capacity assessments.
  11. Maintain databases related to water and wastewater systems.
Qualifications
  • University degree in Civil, Environmental, or Chemical Engineering.
  • Registered Professional Engineer (P.Eng.) with PE Ontario.
  • Minimum five years of municipal water and wastewater engineering experience.
  • Strong project management skills and process development experience.
  • Deep knowledge of water treatment, distribution, and wastewater systems.
  • Proficiency in hydraulic modeling software (e.g., InfoWorks, InfoWater).
  • Understanding of planning processes, land development procedures, and related legislation.
  • Advanced MS Office skills and familiarity with virtual collaboration platforms.
