ABOUT THE ROLE



Reporting to the Senior Project Manager, Capital Planning, this role involves leading water and wastewater projects, coordinating with consultants and partners, and managing issues related to water and wastewater systems, including the Water and Wastewater Master Plan Update, the 10-year capital plan, and other related projects. The position requires providing technical advice, reviewing developments, maintaining hydraulic models, and assisting in project planning and process development.



WHAT YOU'LL BE DOING



• Manage projects and studies supporting master and asset management plans.

• Develop processes for ongoing water and wastewater servicing activities.

• Maintain and update hydraulic models for planning.

• Run models to analyze different scenarios.

• Manage modelling projects, including budgeting, quality, and scheduling.

• Contribute to development-related financial and planning documents.

• Support review of new developments for system capacity.

• Participate in master plan updates, capital plans, and servicing studies.

• Lead or coordinate project teams, mentor staff, and provide technical expertise.

• Assist in transferring facilities between the Region and municipalities.

• Develop and track performance metrics.

• Conduct technical analyses related to population, flow, and capacity.

• Support database maintenance for water and wastewater systems.



WHAT WE'RE LOOKING FOR



• University Degree in Civil, Environmental, or Chemical Engineering.

• P.Eng. registration with Professional Engineers Ontario.

• At least five years of municipal water and wastewater engineering experience.

• Strong project management skills.

• Knowledge of water treatment, distribution, and wastewater systems.

• Experience with hydraulic modelling software (e.g., InfoWorks, InfoWater).

• Understanding of planning processes and land development procedures.

• Proficiency in MS Office and virtual collaboration tools.
