Job summary

Aquatech Canadian Water Services is hiring a Water and Wastewater Operator Level I/II for its Wheatland County, east of Calgary. You will oversee daily operation, monitoring, and maintenance of water and wastewater facilities under supervision.

Qualifications

  • Current Level I or II Water Treatment Operator Certification at minimum (proof of certification is required).
  • Ability to lift 25 kg (55lb).
  • Intermediate to advanced mechanical knowledge.
  • Ability to work under pressure quickly and efficiently.
  • Excellent problem solving skills.
  • Microsoft Office program experience.
  • Strong independent worker and team player.
  • Good communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Proven ability to supervise and communicate with staff members.
  • Positive attitude and able to promote a positive image of AQUATECH.

Responsibilities

  • Carry out the daily operation (regulatory monitoring, reporting, process adjustments, chemical transferring and maintenance) of the facilities.
  • Troubleshooting plant operations.
  • Maintain required inventory and inventory control of critical spare parts, chemicals, & consumables.
  • Operate and monitor Lift Stations and Lagoons.
  • Operate Distribution and Collection systems.
  • Complete and compile data of daily inspections, monitoring, and sampling as required.
  • Perform maintenance tasks.
  • Perform laboratory analysis and reporting.
  • Preparation weekly, monthly, annual reports as required.
  • Participate in required meetings (in-person & remotely).
  • Participate and comply with all aspects of the company’s health and safety program.

Water Certification outside of Alberta (except QC): if you are interested to move to Alberta (SK, MN, NB, etc.) but you do not the Alberta certification(s), Aquatech will support you : moving allowance is applicable and we will coordinate the reciprocity water certification between your Province and the AWWOA in AB.

Operator Main Responsibilities


Working under the guidance of the supervisor, you’re responsible for conducting the daily operation and maintenance of the Water & Wastewater facilities. This position will report to the area Operations Manager.


The main responsibilities of the position include:



  • Carry out the daily operation (regulatory monitoring, reporting, process adjustments, chemical transferring and maintenance) of the facilities;

Hours of Work


The Operator position will be 10 days on and 4 days off totaling 40 Hours/week.
