The Opportunity:

We have an exciting opportunity for two Team Leaders in our Water and Wastewater Facilities Division (WWFD) to become part of our team in Okanagan Valley and the Lower Mainland. As a Team Lead, you will have the opportunity to lead and work with a high-performing team that focuses on detailed design, delivery, construction management and project management of water and wastewater facilities infrastructure projects. This role is ideal for someone looking to further their leadership and technical skills as you will be mentored by senior technical specialists with extensive market relationships. In addition, you will also be a key player in supporting the development of staff, the growth of our division, and expansion of our clients in Alberta and BC.

What You’ll Be Doing:

  • Lead, mentor, and guide a team of engineers, designers and drafters focused on Water and Wastewater Facilities projects.
  • Use your engineering expertise to provide input to resolve technical challenges.
  • Grow project managers within the team to expand capacity to take on additional work.
  • Develop new business opportunities and establish strategic relationships with key clients, agencies, and partners.
  • Lead and manage diverse and multi-disciplined projects and manage technical, logistical, and financial aspects of the work, from proposal stage through to commissioning of the work.
  • Collaborate with divisions across the region and the company in support of projects.
  • Assist the Division Manager in business development, workload, staffing, equipment, safety, quality, and ensuring target financial outcomes.
  • Assist Division Manager in the development and execution of branch strategic plans and budgets.
  • Manage projects following robust quality management processes, and health and safety processes.

What You’ll Bring:

  • Degree or Diploma in Civil Engineering from an accredited university or institute, or otherwise able to register as a professional with EGBC.
  • Demonstrated strong technical skills and 7+ years of related technical experience in civil engineering.
  • Strong technical and project management skills with the ability to drive a project from inception to completion.
  • Aptitude for leadership, continuous learning, knowledge sharing and relationship building.
  • A positive attitude, the ability to build trust and engagement and a desire to support the growth of the Engineering Team.
  • Demonstrated sound business development skills with an understanding of client-focused service.
  • Strong communication skills both internally as well as externally when dealing with clients and stakeholders.
  • Ability to prioritize, delegate responsibilities, and motivate others to produce high-level results.

What Can We Offer You?

The salary range for this position is $110,240 to $149,760 per annum. McElhanney offers fair compensation that is commensurate with the individual’s education, experience, skills, and professional qualifications. The posted base salary/wage range is representative of the required level of qualifications and experience for the position as noted in the job posting. The salary offered will be based on the experience and qualifications of the successful candidate.
