Water & Sewer Loader Operator (OUT OF TOWN WORK)

Firma Contracting is currently seeking an experienced Wheel Loader to work on underground / water & sewer projects located across Western Canada. We offer competitive wages for out of town work, LOA, work / life balance, great opportunity for advancement, training and potential for work over the winter.

Duties include (but are not limited to):

• Installation of underground utilities in close proximity to existing utilities and in existing residential / commercial areas
• Work closely with pipe crews to install pipe - ensuring a high level of safety, communication and quality
• Working in highly congested areas
• Moving materials to pipe crews using proper rigging mechanisms and procedures
• Operate equipment in close proximity to ground personnel and other equipment
• Ensure work is always done safely, to the highest quality standard while maintaining strong production
• Promote, execute and adhere to the company’s safety program
• Daily equipment inspections and maintenance
• Conduct oneself in a professional manner with honesty and integrity

Required Skills:

• 3+ years of experience as Wheel Loader Operator
• Underground utility rehabilitation / replacement experience is an asset
• Exceptionally safety conscious
• Able to work independently and follow instruction from the superintendent / foreman
• Ability to operate other equipment is an asset
• Strong communication skills

Required Certifications:

• CSTS 2020
• WHMIS 2015
• Ground Disturbance Level 2
