Job summary

Sureway Construction Group is seeking a Washbay Labourer to join our Edmonton shop team. The role involves washing heavy equipment and vehicles with a high pressure hose, maintaining wash tools, and keeping the shop and field areas clean and organized.

We require a hard-working, reliable candidate who can handle a physically demanding environment and flexible hours including possible Saturdays/Sundays. Pre-employment testing and orientation are part of the process.

Responsibilities

• Wash various heavy equipment, parts and support vehicles with a high pressure hose.
• Maintain wash wands and equipment and keep the area organized and clean.
• Load and unload supplies from trucks and assist with shop housekeeping.
• Support safety programs and promote safety culture on site.

Job Type: Full Time, Permanent

Schedule: 10+ Hours/day, Saturdays and Sundays as required, Schedule as per Operational Requirements, OT after 8hr/day or 44hr/week

Location: Shop: 9175 - 14 Street NW, Edmonton, AB

Essential: Hard-working, reliable, flexible with schedule, ability to work in physically demanding conditions

The Sureway Shop is under New Management - Effective September 1, 2026

Requirements:

• Personal Reliable Vehicle
• CSA approved steel toed boots with 6" ankle support

Pre-employment:

• Drug and alcohol testing (swab-based test)
• Successful completion of Company Orientation and site-specific orientation
• Fitness to Work Assessment
• Mask Fit Testing

Washbay Labourer Responsibilities:

• Washing various pieces of heavy equipment, parts, and support vehicles in the field with high pressure hose.
• Ensure proper treatment and maintenance of wash wands and equipment.
• Perform general housekeeping to ensure the mobile wash truck is clean and organized.
• Maintain high standards of cleanliness in shop including wiping down surfaces, washing floors...etc.
• Load and unload supplies from trucks manually and at times may be asked to use equipment.
• Promote, execute and adhere to the company’s safety program, and encourage all employees, subcontractors and consultants to adopt safety as a culture.
