Position Overview

The incumbent is responsible for the disassembly of soiled patient trays, washing of trays, service ware and pans. All items washed are inspected for cleanliness, sorted and stored in refrigerated holding areas. The incumbent ensures that the equipment is constantly operated in a safe manner.

Experience
  • Previous experience in food service an asset.

Qualifications and Skills
  • Demonstrated ability to understand and communicate effectively in English, both verbally and in writing.
Physical Requirements
  • Standing 90% of shift.
  • Pushing and pulling dollies to carry dishware from area to area within RDF.
  • Use of automatic lift devices to assist in tray removal from cart.
  • Able to work at a pace of 10 trays per minute on stripping line.
  • Proven ability to work in a coordinated fashion (hand-eye coordination).
  • Able to lift full garbage bags, trays with dishes, racks of dishes.

This position requires a current satisfactory Criminal Records Check (including Vulnerable Sector Search), Child Abuse Registry Check and Adult Abuse Registry Check as conditions of employment. The successful candidate will be responsible for any service charges incurred. A security check is considered current if it was obtained no more than six (6) months prior to the start of employment.

The WRHA legal entity includes Churchill Health Centre, Deer Lodge Centre, Golden West Centennial Lodge, Grace Hospital, Middlechurch Home of Winnipeg, Pan Am Clinic, River Park Gardens, Victoria General Hospital, WRHA corporate programs, and WRHA community health services.
