Job summary

Varsteel Ltd. in British Columbia is seeking a general labourer for our warehouse and manufacturing operations. You will assist with loading/unloading, weighing materials, packing, and supporting machine operators. Training is provided for entry-level candidates.

Work is performed outdoors in dusty, noisy conditions with a 40-hour work week. Certifications such as forklift and overhead crane are a plus, but training is available on the job.

Qualifications

• Secondary school graduation certificate required.
• No experience needed; training provided.
• Ability to perform physically demanding tasks in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities

• Load, unload and move products and materials by hand or with basic material handling equipment.
• Weigh materials and goods.
• Provide customer service.
• Transport and distribute materials and goods.
• Sort, pack, crate and package materials and products.
• Perform other labouring and elemental activities.
• Clean machines and immediate work areas.
• Check and weigh materials and products.
• Assist machine operators, assemblers and other workers.
