Reporting to the Warehouse Supervisor, you will be part of the Warehouse Department. The Warehouse is responsible for accurate receiving, storage, and allocation of resources to ensure responsible and seamless mining operations. The Yardperson is responsible for safely loading/offloading vehicles and ensuring the yard is maintained in a safe manner for placement and retrieval of goods. You will also ensure that the goals and objectives are achieved while promoting and respecting Agnico Eagle’s values, Health & Safety Code of Conduct, and the environment.
Responsibilities:
- Ensure the accuracy and timeliness of all material movements within the yard.
- Process Receiving and Goods Issuing transactions in SAP/JDE on the same day to maintain real-time inventory accuracy.
- Maintain a clear, organized, and traceable material flow from receipt to final issuance.
- Support operational continuity by aligning warehouse activities with underground logistic needs.
- Coordinate with shaft and portal operations to support material transfers from surface to underground.
- Serve internal customers at the wicket area with responsiveness and service excellence.
- Manage receipt, inspection, and documentation of incoming goods.
- Identify and record discrepancies such as shortages, overages, or damaged items, including photographic evidence.
- Unpack, label, and route goods to appropriate storage areas.
- Complete all receiving and return documentation accurately.
- Assist in preparing shipping documentation, including bills of lading, customs forms, and invoices.
- Conduct weekly and cycle inventory counts to ensure accuracy and accountability.
- Issue materials from warehouse and storage locations, ensuring all transactions are properly recorded in SAP.
- Safely load and unload vehicles using forklifts and Manitou equipment.
- Apply proper tie-down and strapping techniques to secure freight and stored items.
- Operate all material handling equipment in accordance with safety protocols.
- Demonstrate safe handling procedures for Dangerous Goods.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and efficient work environment using 5S principles: Sort, Set in Order, Shine, Standardize, and Sustain.
- Perform other duties as assigned to support warehouse and operational needs.
Qualifications:
- Proven experience in warehouse operations, material handling, and yard coordination.
- Forklift, Manitou, or other material handling equipment experience is preferred.
- Strong knowledge of SAP or similar inventory management systems, focusing on accurate, same-day transactions.
- Understanding of Dangerous Goods regulations and safe handling practices.
- Exceptional attention to detail and accountability for inventory accuracy and material flow.
- Collaborative mindset and ability to work effectively in a cross-functional team supporting surface and underground operations.
- Commitment to safety, organization, and continuous improvement in a fast-paced environment.
Work Schedule:
- 7/7 day shift at Macassa Mine Site in Kirkland Lake, ON.
