Job summary

Canadian Natural is hiring a Warehouse Technician for its Fort McMurray distribution facility. The role involves inventory management, order fulfillment, and maintaining a safe, organized warehouse environment.

Qualifications

  • 3+ years warehouse/inventory experience.
  • 3+ years forklift operation (Counterbalance, Narrow Aisle, Order Picker).
  • Proficiency in warehouse management systems (E1, Maximo, SAP, Oracle).
  • Valid Class 5 driver’s license.
  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Parts or Materials Technician Apprenticeship/Journeyman certification considered an asset.
  • Experience with transportation management systems (Oracle, 3G TMS, SAP).
  • Experience with Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, Excel).

Responsibilities

  • Manage inventory receiving, storage, and stock movement with accurate records.
  • Maintain clean, organized, safe warehouse environment and optimize space.
  • Pick and pack products for shipment according to orders.
  • Follow all safety protocols; maintain SDS and MTR documents.
  • Operate forklifts and related equipment safely and efficiently.
  • Collaborate with team and supervisors to meet performance targets.

In this role, you will play a crucial part in ensuring that our warehouse operations run smoothly, efficiently, and safely. We are recruiting for multiple positions, and the successful candidates will work at either our Albian Oil Sands OR Horizon location.

  • Job location:Fort McMurray, Alberta - Albian Oil Sands OR Horizon Oil Sands (On-site)
  • Shift schedule:7 days on, 7 days off rotation, 12-hour days/nights
  • Safety sensitive position:Yes
  • Application deadline:December 31, 2026 (ongoing)

Please Note: This is a temporary 12-month position with a possibility of long-term extension/conversion.

Key Accountabilities:
  • Inventory management by accurately receiving, storing, and managing inventory while maintaining precise records of stock levels, product movement, and shipments
  • Warehouse organizationby maintaining a clean, organized, and safe warehouse environment while ensuring items are stored correctly to optimize space and ease of access
  • Order fulfillment through picking and packing products for shipment according to orders, ensuring accuracy and timely delivery
  • Adhere to all safety protocols and regulations to ensure a safe working environment for yourself and your teammates. Utilize and maintain the Safety Data Sheets (SDS) and Mill Test Reports (MTR)
  • Operate warehouse equipment such as forklifts, pallet jacks, and other machinery safely and effectively
  • Work closely with colleagues and supervisors to ensure that all warehouse operations run smoothly and efficiently, meeting or exceeding performance targets
What You Bring to the Role:
  • 3+ years of warehouse or inventory experience within any industry (retail, transportation, commercial, shipping, courier, etc.)
  • 3+ years of experience in forklift operation (Counterbalance, Narrow Aisle, Order Picker) and proficiency in warehouse management systems (E1, Maximo, SAP, Oracle, etc.)
  • Valid Class 5 driver’s license
  • High school diploma or equivalent required; Parts or Materials Technician Apprentice/Journeyman Certification considered an asset
  • Experience with transportation management system (Oracle, 3GTMS, SAP, etc.) considered an asset
  • Experience with Microsoft Office programs (Outlook, Word, Excel, etc.) considered an asset
