About the Unit

Belle Plaine is located in Saskatchewan, Canada 50 km west of Regina on highway #1.

Responsibilities

The Warehouse Technician is accountable to the Warehouse Supervisor for quality material shipping, receipts, allocation, and issue and storage of all material for stocked activities by keeping up to date inventory records on a computerized system.

  • Inspect, count, record, distribute, issue, and verify material received from commercial suppliers to ensure right quantity and in acceptable condition utilizing SAP.
  • Process related documentation such pick lists, goods receipts, issuing.
  • Packing or unpacking material and storing goods received.
  • Retrieve and action automated reports.
  • Meet client needs and provide assistance to clients.
  • Perform verification of purchase requisitions and purchase orders to ensure purchase of correct items.
  • Ensure material for repair is sent out with proper documentation.
  • Adhere to health and plant safety practices and quality work at all times.
  • Maintain and ensure the proper operation of the tool crib, including issuing tools and receiving tools back using tool hound software.
  • Operate mobile equipment, forklift, pallet jacks as required
  • Ability to work long hours, which could include night shift, during a 6-week plant outage in the spring.
  • Provide support for Warehouse Technicians as directed by the warehouse supervisor.
Education & Experience
  • Grade 12 Education
  • Knowledge of inventory control systems including policies and procedures related to warehousing, material handling, health, safety, and security.
  • Knowledge of industrial safety acts regarding material handling for various types of goods including TDG, WHMIS, and CPR.
  • Understanding of computerized systems structure and operations.
  • Knowledge relating to the operation and maintenance of forklifts, warehouse equipment, hand tools, and computers.
  • Forklift operator ticket is an asset.
  • There may be the possibility of a requirement for night shift work during the scheduled outage.
  • Fluent understanding of written and spoken English.
