Job Description:

Are you looking for an organization where you are excited to come to work; knowing you are making a difference?We work in a fast-paced environment with shipments arriving and leaving our warehouse each day.Keeping track and weighing each shipment is critical for the hotels we work with and our reports on how much we are saving from the landfill. Days are busy but you will find this a rewarding position.

Background

Soap for Hope Canada is a federally registered non-profit with a mission to change lives by providing hope and dignity through hygiene. We work with hotels by diverting hygiene amenities and linens from landfill, reprocess them, then provide these products at no charge to Community Facilities serving vulnerable people. We have had exponential growth and work hard to meet the growing demands in our communities. Join our team to help us help others.

Since 2015, Soap for Hope Canada has grown from helping 5 shelters to supporting over 500 Community Facilities in BC & AB. We serve Shelters, Transitional Homes, Food Banks, low-income Schools, low-income Senior Facilities/programs, Refugees, Evacuation Centers, and Indigenous Communities. This program has huge growth potential. Not only are we helping people, but we are also helping hotels reduce waste from entering our landfill. We work with over 70 hotels and consistently have products arriving and leaving our warehouse.

Responsibilities:

·Weigh all shipments arriving at the warehouse and log information

·Sort bins of products (some go to the hygiene side and others to the linen side)

·Organize the warehouse workspace as required

·Work with the team (staff and volunteers)

·Maintain the work area; making sure it is clean and clutter free

·Filling Orders for Community Facility

·Prepare Orders for Shipping

Competencies:

·Coordination: Ability to organize bins of products entering the warehouse

·Detail Management: Ability to be accurate when recording what hotel the products are from

·Initiative and Adaptability A self-starter with the ability to take initiative and work independently. Ability to maneuver with skill in a changing environment to jump in and assist others.

·A Compelling Voice: Good verbal skills.

·Team Collaboration: Ability to work effectively with cross-functional teams to achieve objectives.

Qualifications:

·Good communication and interpersonal skills.

·Organized and accurate

·Driver’s License

·Able to lift / move bins over 50 lbs.

·Passion for Soap for Hope Canada's mission.

Work Conditions:

·Part Time (Monday to Wednesday from 9-4) but could lead to Full Time work
