Sutherland-Schultz is seeking a Warehouse Support & Driver Associate to compliment our Warehouse Team in Ayr, ON. Our ideal candidate will be situated in in the KW/Cambridge/Guelph area and will report to the Warehouse each day. We are looking for a Team Member that will constantly strive to provide excellent service to our customers, and our project management team.

Functions of the Job:

This position contributes to the productivity of our field personnel by ensuring the right tools are sent to the right place at the right time and in a good state of repair. The Warehouse Support Associate will contribute to the profitable growth and development of the company by assuming responsibility for tool and equipment storage, maintenance and distribution, shipping and receiving, timely deliveries and pickups, and by achieving a balance of excellent customer service and cost control in each of these areas.

  • Safely transport loads to and from construction sites, ensuring safe transport with properly secured loads and accurate records.
  • Ensure all tools and equipment are maintained, repaired quickly where necessary, available when required, and are sent to site on time, with the right parts and certifications ensuring the highest level of internal and external customer service.
  • Receive tools returned from job sites and check to ensure the tools are in good working condition and have all the required parts have been returned.
  • Assist with the day to day operation of the warehouse to ensure that it is running as efficiently as possible, maximizing productivity and minimizing costs.
  • Use creativity and common sense to solve problems and ensure that all warehouse tasks are completed to the best of your abilities.
  • Work closely with Warehouse Administrator to maintain and input all database information into the tool management software.
  • Work in a manner that takes into account your personal safety, as well as the safety of your coworkers by following company safety policies and procedures, and by reporting any behaviors, actions, situations, and/or locations that may be deemed to be unsafe.
  • Maintain flexibility by demonstrating a willingness and ability to change your actions, alter your schedule, apply new methods and strategies, and accept coaching as needed to achieve the most successful outcome.

Who is the ideal candidate?

  • 2-3 years experience in a similar role. Experience in the Construction Industry preferred.
  • Full G license, comfortable operating a 22'-24' Hino truck
  • Forklift experience preferred.
  • Proficient in Microsoft 365, including Excel, Word, Outlook, Teams.
  • Experience with mobile software, inventory management software, etc preferred
  • Excellent communication skills, written and verbal.
  • High level of initiative and keen interest in construction and problem solving
