Under the general direction of the Senior Operations Manager, the warehouse supervisor is responsible for leading, developing and motivating a team of warehouse associates Also, the incumbent is responsible for overseeing a wide variety of warehouse activities including, picking and shipping orders; receiving stock and maintaining accuracy of inventory; and cleaning and organizing warehouse.
What You'll Do: As a Warehouse Lead at AFL, your primary responsibilities will include
- Coordinate with the Logistics Manager on finalized list of materials (e.g.: number of pallets, weight
& dimensions) for booking purposes with service provider/carrier(s) - Coordinate with service provider/carrier(s) on booking and shipment schedules (e.g., ETD/ETA) and
advise warehouse and/or storage facilities. - Track and monitor shipments to minimize and communicate possible delays
- Receive and verify accuracy of incoming shipments through assigned warehouse
personnel/contractor. - Sort and place materials on racks, shelves, or in bins
- Mark materials like: reels stored in yard with identifying information. Mark inventory codes
(SAPs) on all other items. - Monitor pull requests of materials, consumables or other stock items in order to fill
technician/contractor’s requests. - Maintain accurate inventory count of materials received or pulled out from warehouse/storage
facilities and submit reports to Inventory Control Lead. - Work effectively and efficiently with cross functional teams, including those from PMO, Operations (Construction), and the Inventory Control
Lead. - Work effectively with all other business units, including MXU, NGM and Rogers groups
- Assist the Inventory Control Lead identify and optimize common inventory items among facilities for
material forecasting - Conduct periodic audits of facility inventory on a scheduled basis
- Take on responsibility for ensuring in-house warehouse personnel and contractors adhere to the
internal operational processes and company standards in all activities - Act as point of contact for inquiries regarding physical delivery and arrival of all materials vs.
Purchase Orders - Act as point of contact for inquiries regarding material delivery and availability
- Assist Inventory Control Lead monitors: Material usage vs. Material ordering
- Look for opportunities and make recommendations for cost saving initiatives
- Conduct regular team / safety meetings
- Enhancing Organization reputation by accepting ownership for accomplishing requests and
exploring opportunities to add value to job accomplishment - Adhere to and promote the environmental, health & safety policies of AFL
- Ensure all safety procedures are followed, including inspections of warehouse, yard and fleet
vehicles (including forklifts).
What We’re Looking for:
- Minimum 3+ years’ experience working in a warehouse environment
- Minimum 1 year experience in a warehouse supervisor capacity
- Experience with shipping and inventory control
- Experience with Telecommunication Materials is an asset•
- Proficient in MS Office and inventory/warehouse management system
- Able to carry and lift product exceeding 30 lbs.
