Join our team! We have an exciting new opportunity in our Calgary Warehouse for a Warehouse Supervisor. The Warehouse Supervisor is responsible to lead their team in a positive and focused environment that supports highest standards of Safety, Employee Relations and Culture. They will drive and ensure required achievements are met on Customer Service, Quality of work, Accuracy, Productivity and all related KPI’s in the business unit via clear communication of standards, supporting team for success through training and mentoring and instilling accountability and level of care within their environment.
Shift: Monday-Friday 6AM-2:30PM
Job Duties & Responsibilities Safety & Training
Ensures all staff operating MHE are trained and validate safe operating habits are in place inclusive of circle checks and repair and maintenance need identification.
Consistent active walks of floor to identify hazards and initiate corrective actions as required to protect the employees, facility, and business.
Actively involved in training of all employees to ensure they are provided the necessary knowledge, tools, and support to perform any tasks within the DC at the highest level.
Strong continuous improvement attitude to always pursue opportunities to improve.
People Management
Promotes Safe and Inclusive work culture in DC in line with Pet Valu approaches.
Highly motivated, sense of urgency and consistent level of engagement in all activities within the DC.
Support team to remove roadblocks and facilitate highest level of quality, accuracy, and integrity within the department.
Promotes strict adherence to all requirements as per policies, procedures and scheduled timelines and frequencies.
Provides leadership to direct team members and overall staff by providing clear communication, direction, support, follow up, validation and accountability.
Responsible to keep current and accurate Payroll related records such as time punches, time off requests, submission deadlines, etc. using current platform (Workday).
Ability to re-assign resources based on the needs of the business, changing priorities and ultimately ensure the required resources match the activities they must complete as defined by volume and established KPI targets.
Inbound
Monitors Inbound activities as required end to end from point of appointment booking, volume visibility, adequate staffing of resources, develop and communicate plan, supporting team to ensure targets are met, follow ups on procedural adherence and quality of work, all associated reporting of discrepancies and system entries are completed using current platforms (Microsoft Office, Traverse, NAV, etc.).
Outbound
Monitors activities as required end to end from understanding scheduled workload required to complete, volume visibility, adequate staffing of resources, develop and communicate plan, supporting team to ensure targets are met, follow ups on procedural adherence and quality of work, all associated reporting and system entries are completed using current platforms (Microsoft Office, NAV, etc.).
Strictly adheres and meets scheduled departure schedules to ensure customers are service on time inclusive of local fleet deliveries, out of town linehauls and 3PL carrier departures.
Pallet Movements
Monitors all Replenishment and supply Put away functions to ensure procedural adherence, efficiency targets are met, capacity is maximized without compromising controls.
Sanitation
Upholds the strictest of expectations for DC to be tour ready at any time.
Identifies trends and corrective actions to always improve overall status and consistency.
Inventory
Provides support for all Inventory related daily tasks by ensuring resources are adequate and all other operations that may impact completion of those tasks are understood and mitigation is developed.
Supports as required on QC related matters such as Inspection, Withdrawal, Recall, Vendor returns and Customer complaints inclusive of required process, procedure, and transactional needs.
Participate and be key leader in Annual Physical Counts as required.
Education & Experience
Must have a minimum of 2-3 years of experience leading a team in a Warehouse or Distribution Center environment.
Must have applied and proven experience performance managing employees to established KPI’s inclusive of structured process of accountability steps.
Must have excellent and applied knowledge of Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Outlook, PowerPoint, etc.).
Must have excellent and applied knowledge of WMS, ERP and RF based systems and processes.
Must have general knowledge of facilities to identify and initiate repair and maintenance.
Must have working knowledge of OSHA, MOL and other related Safety authorities and expectations within the workplace as they apply to your role.
Must possess employee relations strength to lead effectively and be a strong communicator.
