Redpath Sugar is part of the ASR Group, the world’s largest refiner and marketer of cane sugar, with an annual production capacity of more than 6 million tons of sugar.

The Redpath Belleville plant is a blending and packaging operation producing a variety of sugar containing products for customers in Canada and the U.S. The plant operates state of the art high speed mixing and packaging systems supported by high level safety, quality and logistics systems.

OVERVIEW

The Warehouse Supervisor is responsible for assisting in the oversight of all warehouse activities including inventory control, shipping and receiving, customer relations and directing employees. This position will directly supervise up to 30 unionized employees. Full-time dayshift role designed to support Operation rotationally Monday - Saturday and shift coverage when backup responsibilities are needed.

ROLES & RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Supervise production, loading and unloading operations. Assigns duties and ensures conformance to policies and procedures and performance expectations.
  • Lead operations in a way that promotes safety, food safety and GMPs and Continuous Improvement.
  • Maintain a high level of floor presence and interaction with all associates.
  • Managing, evaluating and reporting on warehouse productivity.
  • Tracking and coordinating the receipt, storage, and timely delivery of goods and materials.
  • Ensure shipments and inventory transactions’ accuracy.
  • Determine staffing levels and assign workload.
  • Maintain items record, document necessary information and utilize reports to project warehouse status.
  • Identify areas of improvement and establish innovative or adjust existing work procedures and practices.
  • Manage material inventory on site, including leading and supervising weekly and quarterly inventory cycle counts.
  • Coordinate activities with other departments.
  • Lead Powered Industrial Truck (PIT) program by coordinating training and onboarding of new PIT operators.
  • Complete PIT re-certifications and oversee the PIT program to ensure compliance with company and legal requirements.
  • Assist with supervision of the Operations team as backup when required.

WORK EXPERIENCES

  • Minimum three years of supervisory experience in a high volume warehouse
  • Experience in a union environment preferred.
  • Experience with consumer product goods / retail distribution preferred.
  • Successful communication - written and verbal.
  • Ability to establish priorities and multi-task.
  • Experience with personal computers and materials handling equipment.
  • Ability to understand, produce and explain reports
  • Must have excellent hands-on staff training, development and management skills.
  • Must be able to work weekends, and rotating shifts

EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS

  • 4-year degree or equivalent supervisory experience
