Quincaillerie Richelieu is seeking a Warehouse Supervisor for the Barrie, Ontario location. You will oversee daily warehouse operations, including receiving, storage, picking, packing, shipping, and delivery coordination, while leading a team of warehouse associates and drivers.

Reporting to the Operations Manager, you will implement SOPs, drive productivity and safety, manage inventory accuracy, and collaborate with Purchasing, Customer Service, and Sales to ensure on-time, accurate deliveries

Qualifications

• Post-secondary education in supply chain, logistics, business administration, or related field preferred.
• Minimum 5-10 years of supervisory experience in warehouse/distribution/logistics.
• Experience with inventory control, transportation, shipping/receiving, and warehouse operations.
• Experience with ERP systems, RF scanners, and Microsoft Office applications.
• Health & Safety committee leadership is an asset.

Job description

Richelieu Hardware is looking for a Warehouse Supervisor for the Barrie, Ontario location.

The Warehouse Supervisor is responsible for overseeing the daily warehouse, shipping, receiving, inventory, and transportation operations while leading a team of warehouse material handlers and drivers. This role ensures products are received, stored, picked, loaded, and delivered safely, accurately, and efficiently while maintaining productivity, inventory accuracy, customer service, and regulatory compliance.

Working closely with the Operations Manager, Purchaser, Customer Service, and Sales teams, the Warehouse Supervisor drives continuous improvement, develops employees, supports transportation operations, and maintains a safe, organized, and efficient warehouse environment.

More specifically, the main responsibilities of the position are to

Warehouse Operations

• 1. Oversee daily warehouse operations including receiving, storage, picking, packing, shipping, loading, unloading, and customer orders.
• 2. Plan, organize, and delegate daily tasks to meet productivity, accuracy, and delivery requirements.
• 3. Establish and maintain SOPs to ensure safe, consistent, and efficient processes.
• 4. Improve warehouse layout, organization, product visibility, and workflow through effective systems, labeling, RF technology, and process improvements.
• 5. Monitor product handling, damages, discrepancies, staged freight, and aged freight while implementing corrective actions.
• 6. Support warehouse operations as required, including hands-on assistance with picking, loading, and daily activities.

Leadership & Employee Development

• 7. Build and maintain a positive team culture focused on safety, accountability, communication, and continuous improvement.
• 8. Establish operational standards and ensure employees follow company procedures and SOPs.
• 9. Lead, coach, train, cross-train, motivate, and develop warehouse associates, forklift operators, shippers/receivers, and drivers.
• 10. Manage employee scheduling, attendance, timecards, overtime, vacation requests, and staffing coverage.
• 11. Support hiring, onboarding, performance reviews, recognition, accountability, documented discussions, and employee development.
• 12. Conduct daily warehouse rallies communicating safety, priorities, truck runs, goals, results, issues, and recognition.

Inventory & Compliance

• 13. Oversee inventory control, cycle counts, physical inventories, inventory accuracy, and shrink reduction.
• 14. Ensure compliance with FSC requirements, receiving/shipping standards, labeling, and warehouse procedures.
• 15. Monitor product quality, handling practices, and loading standards to minimize errors and damages.

Transportation & Equipment

• 16. Oversee trucking, drivers, delivery schedules, dispatching, routes, 3PL and transportation requirements in collaboration with the Purchaser and Operations Manager.
• 17. Monitor and evaluate delivery performance, trucking costs, fuel usage, vehicle inspections, licensing, insurance, and transportation compliance.
• 18. Resolve driver, delivery, shipping, and transportation issues.
• 19. Manage forklift operations, certifications, inspections, propane compliance, and equipment requirements.

Health & Safety

• 20. Lead the OHSC & ensure compliance with Health & Safety policies, legislation, and company procedures.
• 21. Conduct workplace inspections, safety audits, incident investigations, and corrective actions.
• 22. Promote safe work practices and maintain warehouse standards for housekeeping, equipment use, safe lifting techniques, signage, PPE and employee safety.

Reporting & Continuous Improvement

• 23. Track and report KPIs including productivity, inventory accuracy, throughput, on-time deliveries, and labour costs.
• 24. Prepare warehouse operational updates for daily huddles and communicate priorities, truck runs, issues, accomplishments, and performance updates to the Operations Manager.
• 25. Support budgeting, cost control initiatives, projects, and continuous improvement programs.
• 26. Collaborate with Operations, Purchasing, Sales, Customer Service, and Warehouse teams to improve processes and efficiency.
• 27. Provide operational leadership coverage when required.
• 28. Perform all other related duties as assigned by the Operations Manager. Responsibilities and duties may be modified or reassigned based on operational requirements and business needs.
