Job summary

Wakefield Canada Inc. is seeking a Warehouse Specialist for a 6‑month fixed term contract in Toronto. The role supports orders, transfers and overall warehouse operations. You will load/unload vehicles, handle totes, and assist with inventory and safety procedures in a dynamic team environment.

The position requires a valid AZ license, forklift certification, and experience with warehousing systems. Overtime may be required to meet production and delivery needs.

Qualifications

Responsibilities

Warehouse Specialist (AM Shift) 6-month contract

Job Summary:

The Warehouse Specialist 6-month fixed term CONTRACT works within a collaborative team and plays a key role in ensuring customer orders and stock transfers are processed effectively. The Warehouse Specialist loads and unloads vehicles to ensure efficient turnaround times within the warehouse to address Wakefield’s business needs.

Key Accountabilities:

• Pick and process customer orders and Wakefield/Castrol stock transfers.
• Load and unload vehicles.
• Fill and/or decant totes in plant or warehouse
• Participate in warehouse control and inventory cycle counting.
• Periodic support for the Receiver function.
• Warehouse housekeeping as required.
• Attend Safety and Compliance Seminars and constantly strive to maintain a safe working environment.
• Perform the required recommended forklift inspection procedures.
• Liaise with shipping coordinators as required.
• Liaise with Warehouse and Distribution Managers and organize packaged goods shipments using Wakefield fleets or outside carriers.
• Receive and follow direction from the Warehouse Lead Hand as needed.
• Support and promote the adherence to all Wakefield policies and procedures.
• Special projects and participation as required.

• Able to acquire the skills required to successfully demonstrate proficiency in internet navigation and it is desirable to have some PC skills or the aptitude to be trained.
• Must have an AZ license.

Education / Experience:

• High school or equivalent is required and will have good reading comprehension in addition to writing and mathematical skills.
• Previous related warehouse experience
• Experience with Warehouse Management System
• Valid AZ license
• Valid forklift license
• Lift truck experience with valid lift truck certification training or ability to obtain
• LOTO - Lock Out & Tag Out training

Working Conditions:

• 6-month fixed term CONTRACT
• Unionized role
• Hours of work may vary according to operational needs such as production demands, fluctuating workloads, vacations, and absences, etc.
• Plant and Warehouse environment with periodic outdoor work.
• This role in on the day shift, generally 7am – 3:30pm
