Job summary

Trail Appliances in Nanaimo is seeking a Warehouse/Showroom Assistant to help maintain showroom displays, assist with customer pickups, and handle general warehouse tasks. You will unpack and prepare appliances, coordinate shipping/receiving, and keep showroom areas clean and organized.

The role requires the ability to lift heavy appliances (>100 lbs) and perform minor repairs with hand and power tools, all while delivering friendly, attentive customer service in a fast-paced environment.

Qualifications

• Keen eye for detail and upkeep of retail displays.
• Previous retail showroom display or warehousing experience.
• Ability to lift and move heavy objects (appliances) greater than 100 lbs.
• Experience with small repairs and comfort using both hand and power tools.
• Exceptional customer service skills and friendly demeanor.

Responsibilities

• Facilitate physical movement of appliances in and around the showroom and warehouse areas
• Unpack and prepare appliances for display
• Coordinate the shipping and receiving documents for products moving in and out of the store warehouse
• Perform and maintain general cleaning schedule of showroom, including staff rooms, office areas, bathrooms, and warehouse areas
• Assist with the installation of appliances where possible

The Warehouse/Showroom Assistant is responsible for facilitating ongoing showroom maintenance operations including rotating appliance displays, small fixture repairs, assistance with customer pick-ups, showroom cleaning and maintenance, and general warehouse tasks.

Compensation: $22 - $24 per hour

Hours of work: 40 hours per week, may include weekends.
