Job description

The Cambridge Food Bank is seeking a reliable, energeticShipper/Receiverto join our team. This is a physically demanding role that involves being on your feet all day, lifting up to 50 pounds, and working in a fast-paced warehouse environment. You will play a key role in ensuring the smooth flow of goods in and out of our facility while also interacting with donors and program participants in a professional and welcoming manner.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Load and unload delivery trucks efficiently and safely
  • Receive and sort incoming donations and shipments
  • Maintain accurate inventory records and stock organization
  • Use computer systems to complete data entry and inventory tracking
  • Prepare outgoing shipments and assist with donation drop-offs and pick-ups when needed
  • Ensure the warehouse is clean, safe, and organized
  • Follow all health and safety protocols, including food safety protocols
  • Provide excellent customer service to donors and participants
  • Support occasional evening and weekend special events

Requirements:

  • Physically fit and able to lift up to 50 pounds repeatedly
  • Able to stand and move for extended periods
  • Experience with shipping, receiving, and inventory management
  • Comfortable using computers and basic data entry systems
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • Valid driver’s licence with a clear driver’s abstract
  • Ability to work occasional evenings and weekends

Assets:

  • Experience driving cargo vans or similar vehicles
  • Safe Food Handling Training
  • Familiarity with non-profit or community service organizations

Pay: $23.40-$26.00 per hour
