What you’ll be doing:

As a Maintenance Technician 2, you will perform preventative and spontaneous maintenance on conveyors, electrical motors, material handling equipment, skill saws, propane torches, man-lifts, hand tools, power tools, welding equipment, grinders, electrical test equipment, ladders, lift equipment jacks, chargers, and batteries.

You will also perform general building maintenance including overhead doors, construction repairs, roll carts, floor repairs, and second-level gates and doors. Light plumbing maintenance and carpentry tasks will also be part of your role.

In this role, you will be essential to the success of Staples Supply Chain as we deliver to our customers.

What you bring to the table:

  • Mechanical aptitude, knowledge of hydraulics, electrical systems, pneumatics, and ability to read blueprints and schematics, including electrical schematics
  • Ability to use vendor manuals and procedures for preventative maintenance and troubleshooting
  • Willingness to be trained and certified to operate power material handling equipment, e.g., forklifts, electric pallet jacks
  • An inclusive approach to colleagues and customers, fostering collaboration and issue resolution
  • Analytical thinking and problem-solving skills
  • Quick adoption of safety procedures and ensuring safe work practices
  • Comfortable working in a warehouse environment with seasonal temperature variations
  • Basic English skills (verbal and written)

Qualifications:

Basic Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or GED
  • 1+ year of related experience
  • Ability to pass a drug screen (where legally permissible)
  • Availability to work additional hours beyond scheduled shifts, including overtime as needed
  • Ability to work at heights up to 60 feet or more
  • Ability to lift, push, or pull boxes weighing between 70 and 100 pounds
  • Must be at least 18 years old
